La Couleur de la grenade
2024 production
In collaboration with Saté-Âtre
At the invitation of Saté Khachatryan, Mourad Merzouki will make his first trip to Armenia in 2021 to lead a hip-hop dance workshop at the National Opera and Ballet Theatre of Armenia. Together, they imagined a show based on the cult film Sayat nova : The Color of the Pomegranate by the great Armenian filmmaker Serguei Paradjanov, as a tribute to the centenary of this outstanding director. In this piece, hip-hop dance blends with traditional Armenian dance and music, sublimated by electro music, to convey all the poetry of Serguei Paradjanof, a true magician of the world of cinema.
