How do you hear music as hackneyed as The Four Seasons with new ears ? This is the challenge that Julien Chauvin set himself at the helm of his Concert de la Loge. The narrative and theatrical approach that structures the score unfolds in a visual, scenographic and choreographic creation designed to intensify the concert experience and amplify the spectator’s sensory field, while keeping the music at the heart of the dramatic device. Mourad Merzouki, whose creations are always at the crossroads of multiple disciplines, proposes choreographic insertions on certain movements of Vivaldi’s pieces, where dancers mingle with the musicians of the Concert de la Loge.

Les Quatre saisons
2023 production
In collaboration with Concert de la Loge
Driven by the desire to resize Vivaldi’s "hit", Julien Chauvin - concertmaster of the Concert de la Loge orchestra - reintegrates the narrative and theatrical content of the Four Seasons with its musical interpretation, making it a total work of sound and vision, entirely at the service of the music. To amplify the spectator’s sensory field while retaining the centrality of the music, Mourad Merzouki leads the dance through the different movements of Vivaldi’s 4 concertos, at the very heart of the orchestra.
